This is the closest you’ll ever get to breastfeeding.

I will obviously never know what that was like in the physical and emotional sense. But I will also never really know what it was like in the sense of being unable to do anything else, for the purpose of providing nutrients, over a certain length of time (and with our milk monster, that was sometimes like an hour).
Recently, one of our cats got super sick, and I have been giving meds and food through a feeding tube. The meds are quick and easy. But the food must be delivered slowly, over 15-20 minutes, four times a day.
His feeding is my only job for a defined length of time, and I literally can’t do anything else, except look at Facebook.
That my friends, is as close as I will get to breasfteeding – squeezing liquefied Fancy Feast down a plastic tube.
