We have just entered the “pretend” phase of our parenthood journey, although, unlike other phases that are short, I have a feeling this one is really really long and morphs many times over into different levels of pretend complexity.
Thus far, we’ve made lots of meals in her kitchen, mostly of the cotton ball “pom-pom” variety, feasted on fake veggies and milk, smacked the crap out of (aka toddler patting) a fake baby while putting it to sleep, and had killer air soup.
Isabel hasn’t created any comprehensible stories, but I have a feeling she will take us on many interesting journeys, which may or may not include undersea adventures.
