#PowerofDad: Little Moments, Big Smiles

I’ve been spending a lot of time on the floor lately. Carpet, hardwood, rubber, tile, you name it. Being 6′ 5″, the perspective from the floor is definitely not one I am used to, but I love it. You know why? Because it’s the easiest way to nap play with Isabel.

She spends most of her day sitting, rolling, or lazy-crawling (ie. scooting) on her playmat, and banging on the myriad of musical toys she has. So naturally, we are right there with her, singing along to Mozart (yes, she has started singing along) or putting her plastic fruit back into the shopping bag.

Mrs. FWL is currently in grading hell as the school year wraps up, so over the past several days Isabel and I have logged some serious hours on the floor together while mama works. We’ve played circus, tormented the cats, licked the hardwood (she, not I), laughed through peek-a-boo, and discovered the bathroom tile.

It’s these little moments we have to remind ourselves to cherish. Isabel is experiencing so many things for the very first time. She’s almost crawling, her first teeth are flirting with the surface of her gums, not quite ready to break through, and she’s becoming more aware of everything around her. Soon she’ll be walking, talking, brushing her teeth, and driving (perhaps that was a leap, but you get the point).

But it’s also these little moments that bring the biggest smiles to our faces. As part of this year’s #PowerofDad campaign, Oral-B sums it up perfectly…

Additionally, for the second year in a row, P&G Oral Care has partnered with March of Dimes, a leading organization for healthy, happy families that celebrates mothers and fathers every day. And this year has joined forces with members of “Football’s First Family,” New York Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning, his father Archie and his daughter Ava – to celebrate fatherhood’s little moments.

And while Isabel seems to again be marching to the beat of her own drum, this time as to when she’ll get her teeth (we swore it was imminent two weeks ago), that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take care of the ones we already have. So give dad (or mom) the special gift of a beautiful, healthy smile with Oral-B’s most sophisticated power brush yet (and a $7-off coupon). Who doesn’t like a discount, right?

Disclosure: I partnered with Oral-B and Life of Dad, LLC for the #PowerofDad Father’s Day promotion and was compensated for my involvement.
